Late Rome

The Late Roman Empire (Dominate) - 284 CE–476 CE in the West, continuing in the East as the Byzantine Empire

An age of imperial rule characterized by vast territorial expansion, monumental achievements, and the enduring legacy of Roman culture and law.

Marked by the rise of the Roman Empire under Augustus, this era brought about the Pax Romana—a long period of relative peace and prosperity—and vast territorial expansion. It eventually ended with the decline and fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 CE, even as the Eastern Empire (also known as the Byzantine Empire) continued for nearly another millennium.
